Vermont Doll Lovers meetup, 06/09/2018

Total attendees = 8! I apologize for the poor quality of the photos. I took some with my tablet, which doesn't have a very good camera. Then a lot of those that I took with my decent camera ended up blurry for unknown reasons. Dammit.

Two newcomers came, Mary and Kathy, the latter of which traveled up from western Massachusetts. I notice that attendees increase during the summer, probably because the weather is good for traveling. Urban Hermit, who first attended last July, swung down from Montreal, making this meet an international one. I think I'll invite the Montreal folks to next month's meetup...

Mary's dolls:

L to R: Topper Dawn x4, Mattel Lucky Locket Kiddle [in egg in front of Dawns], unknown doll with soft "magic skin," Mattel talking Mrs. Beasley [copyright 1966]. Mary concentrates on dolls from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s, but she has some as early as the 1920s and as late as the 1980s.
The Dawns are so cute and so 1970s with their heavy mascara and blue eyeshadow.

Lyrajean identified this mystery doll as having "magic skin," which is made of a soft, yielding plastic. It's rare to see such a doll from the 1950s or 1960s that has "magic skin" in such good condition. It usually disintegrates in the sunlight.

Videos. The first two are of Mrs. Beasley talking. The last is me cracking up while trying to make the "magic skin" doll fart cry squeak:

UrbanHermit's dolls:

L to R: Resinsoul Sui [purple], Dollshe Bubblepet Molly, Charmdoll Hugh head on Dikadoll body [freckled].

Frankly this Charmdoll/Dikadoll guy has better torso flexion than the average VTDL attendee. :p

The Resinsoul doll was originalyl very white, the color of the headcap. Urban Hermit dyed him with RIT dye. She added a mottling effect by touching some areas with a cotton swab dipped in acetone.

vermont chick's dolls and my dolls:

vermont chick's, L to R: Racoondoll Rosie, Iplehouse FID Miho, Soom Idealian Cuba, Iplehouse Creaa Leah, Creaturedoll Lilith. My dolls, L to R: Fritillaria, Withdoll Ariana with cracked head, Never the Less, modded Angelsdoll Ieseul Cat Avatar head on AOD body.

Disturbingly, Never the Less appears to be strangling a Funko Steven Universe. D:

Lyrajean's dolls:

L to R: Volks Dollfie World Cup 01, Volks Date, Volks Hijakata [standing sort of behind Date], Volks Jun, Volks Chiyo, Volks Masha, Xagadoll Sylvia.

Bittersweet Blue's dolls:
[not shown: Obitsu Nano Haruka and Obitsu 11cm Brownie]
Hujoo Nano Freya playing with an extra Funko Steven Universe.

Hujoo Berry with a 1:6 scale barbecue [needs a grate] and some burgers and dogs.

Doll Family A Anasta head on Luts Kid Delf body.
Fairyland Littlefee Chloe.

After several years, Bittersweet Blue is still trying to get rid of Nobilitydoll Ryoma with the infamous spring-loaded nipples [not shown]. "Press papilla good feel!" [YMMV.]

Melface's dolls:

L to R: Rement Pose Skeletons x 4, Azone boy [red yarn wig], Shi Arts Body-kun [all black, in a lunge to right of Azone], Alchemic Lab Unoa L-bi, Fairyland Littlefee Lewi [in striped hood], Polynian Emil, Polynian Shamrock.

Kathy's dolls:

L to R, back row: Iplehouse FID Isabel [headless], Iplehouse FID Bichun, 3 Makie heads on Resinsoul Zi or Xu bodies, Obitsu head on Resinsoul body [with white baseball cap], 2 Makie heads on Resinsoul Zi or Xu bodies. Front row, L to R: Sakura and Paper Meng [rabbit], Sakura and Paper unknown bird, Ruby Red Galleria Gigi [short black hair], Lati White [in light blue], Ruby Red Galleria Yu Ping, Ruby Red Galleria Jar Lu [black curls].
The Makie heads come from 3D printed PLA heads by a British company of the same name. Unfortunately the Makies are discontinued, which is a shame, as they're very cute.

Future meetups: 07/14 1-4 PM, 08/11 1-4 PM.
