Vermont Doll Lovers

Vermont Doll Lovers hosts its second year-end holiday themed meetup on Saturday, November 22nd, 1-4 PM, in the Koolvord Room of the Brownell Library. The library is at 6 Lincoln St., Essex Jct., VT 05452. It is accessible to people with mobility impairments, and there is plenty of free parking. Holiday and winter-related sets, accessories, props and outfits are encouraged. Check out photos from last year's event to see what might be in store! Total attendees = 4. With many of our regulars engaged in other commitments, we had a small gathering this afternoon, just me, Lyrajean, vermont chick and a newcomer, Becca. In celebration of Halloween, attendees showed up with costumed dolls, copious pumpkins, a small-scale graveyard and articulated skeletons, so our dolls got festive. vermont chick has photos on her blog.

I just changed the name and URL. With regular attendees from outside the county, the name CCDC no longer accurately reflects what we're about. "Vermont Doll Lovers" sums it up better. Though we welcome people from anywhere, we focus on providing a community for Green Mountain State doll enthusiasts. Now to update everyone...

Total attendees = 12. Yesterday CCDC welcomed its largest complement of attendees ever! A whole dozen of us attended, including newcomers Pink and their husband [from Maine] and Pink's friend from Quebec [who doesn't have any dolls...yet]. We spent the entire extended duration [noon to 4:00 PM] talking dolls, posing and photoing them, in between side conversations about mutual interests such as Monster High, Internet-based cartoons and fursuits. Our next CCDC meetup occurs on a nonstandard date and nonstandard time. We're meeting on Saturday, August 23rd, from 12:00 to 4:00 PM, in the Koolvord Room, Brownell Library, 5 Lincoln St., Essex Jct., VT 05452. PLEASE NOTE: The library is closed during this time, but I will have a key. Use the door around back to enter. The front door will be locked. I've extended the time available because we have fellow doll lovers from Maine and Quebec planning to visit! We're going international! :p

Total attendees = 9. Nine people and God knows how many dolls attended last Saturday's get-together. For the very first time, other types of dolls outnumbered the BJDs! Monster Highs represented very well, thanks to Shannon. Some attendees had dolls that did not come with them. I encouraged these enthusiasts to bring their dolls [including vintage and antique!] next time for even more doll-related fun. Maybe someday we'll have like 10 active members.... CCDC gathers next month on Saturday, June 14th, from 1:00-3:30 PM, in the Koolvord Room, Brownell Library, Essex Jct., VT 05452, for play, photos, fun and, of course, dolls. We welcome all kinds of dolls and all ages of doll lovers. You don't even have to have a doll to attend -- you just have to be a doll enthusiast. Accessible to public transit and persons with disabilities. Free parking!

CCDC gathers next month on Saturday, April 5th, from 1:00-3:30 PM, in the Koolvord Room, Brownell Library, Essex Jct., VT 05452, for play, photos, fun and, of course, dolls. We welcome all kinds of dolls, from Lalaloopsies to Obitsus to Barbies to Monster Highs to Asian ball-jointed dolls to action figures to custom art dolls to antique porcelains and everything in between. You don't even have to have a doll to attend -- you just have to be a doll enthusiast. All ages welcome too.

Total attendees = 10. Saturday's Valentine's meetup of Chittenden County Doll Club attracted a total of eight doll enthusiasts, as well as at least two hangers-on who did not come with dolls. In any event, the turnout represents the most populous meetup of CCDC ever, not only in terms of people, but in terms of dolls [somewhere north of 25]. CCDC is having its first Valentine's themed meetup next weekend on Saturday, February 8th, at the usual place and usual time. I'll bring some appropriate props for photoshoots. Hope to see some of you there!
